A native New Orleanian, (Fmr.) Judge C. Hunter King defines himself as a “first-generation lawyer and a third-generation roofer,” a title that reflects the grit and discipline required to fund his legal education by working alongside his father. This journey from manual labor to the Civil District Court bench—where he was elected by the people in 1999—shaped a legal philosophy rooted in the belief that the American Dream is achievable through relentless hard work and an unwavering commitment to justice.
